Principal's Welcome

Templeton Elementary, located in the heart of Bloomington, just south of Indiana University and Bryan Park, serves approximately 425 students in preschool through sixth grade. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) School, learning at Templeton has an inquiry and global-minded focus. At Templeton Elementary, we pride ourselves on meeting the unique needs of all our students and offer a variety of programming to meet every student’s needs, including single grade and multi-age classrooms.  Our approach to learning is inclusionary, meeting the needs of English language learners, students receiving special education services, and students receiving high ability services within the general education classroom. Students at Templeton have the opportunity to be lifelong learners and understand how we live in a global society.

Dr. Tim Dowling is in his third year as principal of Templeton Elementary, after previously serving as an administrator and teacher in several MCCSC schools.  Mr. Josh Livingston is in his sixth year as assistant principal of Templeton Elementary, after previously serving as a teacher and instructional coach for MCCSC and teacher at Indianapolis Public Schools.
